SHARE YOUR YOUTH PROGRAMMING IDEAS

We are excited to invite you to our Youth Programs Listening Session on Tuesday, September 30th, 5:30-7 p.m. at the UNION. This session is designed to enhance our strategic priority areas by focusing on designing and developing impactful arts programs and expanding community engagement efforts. This is your opportunity to share your ideas for future youth programming in a fun, relaxing environment with other community members. We value your input!

We are extremely proud of our current youth programming, including:

Family Night: is an opportunity to welcome youth and their grown ups into our youth studios for fun and creative play. Activities and materials may include: clay, sculpture, legos, reading, board games, and more. These events are FREE and open to the public. No registration required to participate.

Art Club: is an arts and cultural enrichment program for youth ages 8-12yrs. Participants are provided with opportunities to view and discuss exhibitions, visit cultural institutions, meet working artists, collaborate with peers, and explore the studio arts, alternating between 2D and 3D art mediums each year.

Action Brigade: is a socially engaged art program that provides youth ages 12-16yrs with opportunities to further develop their artistic skills in the youth studios, alternating the focus each year between 2D mediums and 3D mediums. Each spring, youth will work with a local artist and participate in a 4 week long community based project, as well as plan an event for their community.

Mentoring Young Artists: is a leadership and professional development program designed to provide emerging artists ages 15-17 years with hands-on experience in teaching artistry and peer mentorship, by acting as mentors during our summer youth programs. Participants are able to build professional skills and relationships with experienced artists, educators, and staff members while supporting our goal to increase access to the arts for young people living in and around North Omaha.
