Amelia Broussard

Collage and Mixed Media

Amelia Broussard is a Louisiana native now based in Omaha, NE, who creates mixed media collages inspired by her childhood explorations of the bayous. Using recycled materials, she captures the essence of these memories, exploring their unreliability while also finding joy and appreciation in the beauty of everyday life.

In addition to her artistic practice, Amelia is deeply committed to ensuring art remains accessible to all. She was an Antenna Artist Collective member from 2015-2024, where she also served as Director of Artist Initiatives and Exhibitions. Her role allowed her to support and promote fellow artists while fostering creative opportunities. In 2019, she co-founded Sketch Basin, a non-profit dedicated to providing access to art education for talented students in New Orleans. Currently, she is the co-director and exhibitions coordinator of LaLa (Local Artists. Local Art.), an organization focused on building a more diverse, resilient, and thriving Omaha arts sector.

Amelia was a 2024 MaMO artist in residence in Omaha and had her first solo exhibition in New Orleans the same year. She is a 2025-2026 Alternate Currents cohort member through Amplify Arts, helping guide programming, public projects, exhibitions, and panel discussions. Additionally, she is a 2025 Fellow at the Union for Contemporary Art. Her work has been exhibited in Louisiana, Austin, TX, Kansas City, MO, Omaha, NE, and New York City.
