Co-Op Distanced Membership

While the Union building remains closed to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, we are offering new opportunities for Co-Op Members to continue their practice in ceramics and printmaking from home. The options below are available to all current Union Co-Op members. If you are not a current Member, you can purchase a Distanced Membership for $20 which will be active through April 1 – June 30, 2021.

All services will be available by appointment to Members: Tuesday – Thursday: 10am – 6pm. Friday: 10am - 3pm. Please contact Dan Crane for Print and Sarah Jones for Ceramics.

CERAMICS

Members can purchase clay through the Union’s website. After purchasing clay, email Sarah@u-ca.org to let her know what color of clay you would like and to schedule a pick up date and time. (Please allow 48 hours after time of purchase for clay pick up.)


For Co-Op Members interested in firing their work at The Union, the work MUST be made out of Cone 6 clay purchased from The Union to ensure the safety of the ceramic studio equipment. Studio glazes are available upon request.


Bisque & glazed work pick up – there will be a cart with work ready for pick up placed in the courtyard during the dates and times listed below. PLEASE PROVIDE YOUR OWN BOXES & PACKING MATERIAL!


ALL WORK MUST BE DRY FOR BISQUE FIRING & ALL GLAZED WORK MUST BE GLAZED WITH CONE 6 GLAZES & THE WORK MUST HAVE WIPED BOTTOMS!

Screen Service
$10 - We coat & expose YOUR screen
$40 - We coat & expose a screen for you to keep forever

Option 1 - Co-Op Print Shop Coats & Exposes YOUR Screen

1 - Purchase a $10 supply punch card via the Co-Op page on website - PER SCREEN

2 - Email Dan FINISHED artwork at dan@u-ca.org (no larger than 13"x19) (300 dpi recommended (jpeg, PDF, PSD,PNG, etc.)

3 - Bring your screen to The Union (no larger than 23"x30"), meeting staff in parking lot at specified day & time. (Bring receipt from website purchase.)

4 - Either wait up to one hour while your screen is prepared or come back at specified time for pick up of exposed screen.


Option 2 - Co-Op Print Shop Coats & Exposes a screen from our current Union inventory and you take it home and keep it forever. (23”x30”, 160 mesh count)

1 - Purchase a $40 supply punch card via the Co-Op page on the website - PER SCREEN

2 - Email Dan FINISHED artwork at dan@u-ca.org (no larger than 13"x19) (300 dpi recommended) (jpeg, PDF, PSD,PNG, etc.)

3 - Be able to wait up to an hour or come back at specified time for pick up of exposed screen

Fine Print
  • For liability & capacity reasons, no tools or equipment will be lent out.
  • Due to the nature of these studios unfortunately we can not offer anything in Digital, Fibers & Photo.
  • Local Pickup Only - screens, clay, and work will not be shipped.
  • Kiln firing dates are subject to change based on if there is enough work to fill the kiln. Co-Op Members will be notified if kiln firing dates change.
  • Because kiln space is limited and shared by all, please limit the size of your pieces to 14 inches tall and wide.
